Welcome to our testimonials page, here you can find what other people have thought about Vital International and the service we provide.
Hi Sophie,
Scot and I would just like to thank you and all at Vital. When we decided to come to Sydney it felt very daunting, and felt that we were getting no where trying to organise it on our own. But you were able to help us so much. Your help made the whole process so much easier for the both of us.
You set me up with not one but two interviews which was great. I took the job at Prince of Wales Private Hospital Sydney. I was very nervous about starting a new job not only in a new area of nursing but in a whole new country. I couldn't be more happier. I love the hospital that I am working in. Everyone is lovely and so welcoming. I would definitely recommend it to any one else thinking of moving to Sydney. The ward I am on, which is a surgical ward, look after their staff really well and are always trying to organise nights out together which is a great way of getting to know the ones you work with.
Scot and I are loving our new life in Sydney, we understand that the city life is not for everyone but it is definitely for us. We are living in the centre, a 2 minute walk to Hyde park which is great. The beaches are well kept and a great way of spending a lazy sunny day.
Scot and I feel that we could not have done this without your help Sophie and we are so grateful. It took us a year in total from the planning stage to eventually arriving in Sydney, but it was a year well waited for.
Thanks again Sophie for all your help
Yvonne & Scot

Hi Sophie, Happy New Year. I am sorry I didn’t write to you earlier. I am doing well and the work place is so good. Thank you for all your help. Dear Sophie, Finally we’re over a month now here in Melbourne Australia, working in Royal Children’s Hospital Neonatal unit is an awesome place to work, the people that I am working with are quite helpful and supportive to new staff like me, the city is brilliant, I felt I’m at home like in the Philippines. I would like to extend my greatest appreciation and thankfulness to you, from the start that I sent my CV online I’ve got a quick reply, honestly I waited months for this hospital to have vacancy, as I really wanted to settle in Melbourne. Sophie was very understanding and professional, always there to email me back with all my questions and how she supported me and not to lose heart. So far I had no regret that Vital International is the agency that I applied with, as Sophie directed me step by step with all the documents that I need. I strongly recommend Vital International to all the nurses who want to apply and dreaming to be here in Australia. You’re surely love it here. A BIG thank you to you, that even when I arrived here you’re always there to guide me and my family in everything. Finally we’ll experience a warm Christmas in where my daughter will surely love. Love, Anita and family
Thanks to Sophie Pelman and Vital International Recruitment. I had a dream from long time to come and work at Australia. I had approached few recruiting agencies, but nothing worked out. I am very glad to have found Sophie from Vital Recruitment. Sophie assisted me through the whole process of finding me a position, to making my family and I so welcome in Australia. She followed up every request and assisted me with all queries. Sophie organized my interview with Canberra Hospital and gave me accurate idea of what to expect in the interview as well as an accurate idea of what the hospital and unit would be like. Sophie followed up well with me after the interview and was always very available by email and phone for support. Now I am working at Canberra hospital as a RN at vascular /urology department. I am really well looked after at the hospital and getting a support and help from everybody. Hospital offered me a good relocation package. Everyone is so helpful and friendly, patient ratio is very less in ward areas, also getting lots of opportunity to attend Educational courses. Canberra is a very beautiful place and I just know that I am going to be very happy here, my children are happier because they can go outside of the house and play. I have been in Canberra for more than 2months now; still Sophie has contact with me and she is also a very good friend to me. The more to Australia has been a great experience so far. Thank you to Sophie ever so much for making my dream come true. All I can say is that Vital Recruitment is one of the best agencies that I can recommend to all nurses who are planning to move to Australia. Regards, Padmaja Dinesh TCH Canberra
I am so glad that I have found Vital recruitment through RCN. It was really the one phone call I made to vital made all the difference. From that day Sanja assisted me and my family to make our dream come true, to come to this beautiful country.
It was a wonderful experience to work with the professional consultants at Vital. From the very first conversation I made with Sanja, she assisted me through the whole process, from finding a job in the area which I have requested, setting up the interview with hospital, assisting me with the registration and through all the paper work. Sanja was very helpful and professional and it was so easy to contact her .I always felt that all my needs were met all the time.
Since we arrived in Australia in September Sophie helped us. She contacted me every day to make sure that I was happy and it was great to have someone for the support. I am really well looked after at the hospital and getting all the help and support from all the staff. I am glad that I made the right choice.
I am pleased with the wonderful service that I’ve received from Vital and would really encourage others to contact Vital recruitment if they are looking for a professional and reliable recruitment agency. Once again thank you all from the bottom of my heart and wish you all the very best. Keep up your good work and I am hoping to see you all in person one day. Kind regards, PREETHA, RN at TCH, CANBERRA
Dear Joey,

We are all doing fine and are chuffed we made the move to Australia. The new house is awesome and the pool is coming in very useful as the weather warms up.

Sophie,
It has always been a dream of mine to work at a big, training hospital and you’ve helped me realize that dream by securing me a permanent position at Canberra Hospital. As you know things were looking rather bleak for me as far as work was concerned, but you’ve changed all that. Your professionalism and expertise was evident from our first telephonic conversation and that made me feel so secure. You’ve also made sure that I new well in advance what the next step in the application process was going to be, what documentation was needed. That really took all the stress out of the whole process. I am really grateful for all the phone calls and encouraging words especially in the days before my family could join me in Canberra.
I am really well looked after at the hospital and getting a lot of support from everybody in ED. Every one is so helpful and friendly and I just know that I am going to be very happy here. I have just completed the most comprehensive orientation process ever and am really excited to put everything that I have learned to practice.
I would really encourage other people to contact Vital International if they’re looking for a professional and reliable recruitment agency. I am so happy that I did.
Sophie, you’ve been a star and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you have done for me and my family.

Dear Sophie, It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I remember you and your role as a sincere and friendly recruitment consultant in me completing a perfect switch over to Australia, a place where I dreamed to work and live. You were very professional from the beginning of the process from my first email/ phone call to the day I have joined duty at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. You have been very friendly, approachable and above all very quick and prompt with your service. Thanks a lot for all your guidance and support you have given me and my family to start a new life in Brisbane, a warm and most suitable place for people like us to settle .I would recommend anyone to Vital International (which I have already done) simply because of the good and prompt service I have got and it is a testimony to show my feelings. Once again thanks Sophie for all your support and guidance. Thanks. Shilgy Mathew RN Orthopaedic ward PA Hospital, Brisbane
Hi Joey, how are you? So sorry we've been so bad at keeping in touch! So we're finally leaving Alice Springs! Oh my god we have had the best time ever, am so so sad to be leaving! The work was fantastic and we got so much experience! We made loads of brilliant friends here as well and just had absolutely loads and loads of fun! Thank you so much for sorting us out here, it has been amazing!
I plan on going to Tasmania in the middle of October for about 4-6 weeks and was hoping you might be able to help me out there if possible? I don’t really know that much about the place so any information would be fantastic.
Thanks again Joey, we've had an absolute blast! Take care, Liz, RN
Nursing in Australia was something on my mind for years, even before I started my degree several years ago. This was mostly due to opinions and experiences I had read about on the internet, and by friends who have been on holiday down under. The differences between working as a nurse in the UK or nursing in Australia were obvious and this made me contemplate the move however difficult it initially sounded. Back in the UK often I would be in charge of a ward with up to 14 patients within the National Health Service and in the private sector up to 32 patients. This sometimes meant working with staff with limited knowledge of mental health issues, combined with the limited number of staff per shift and the working environment’s safety became compromised. I found myself becoming mentally and physically drained and under constant pressure due to staffing shortages.
From what I had read about Australia from a nursing perspective the workload would be lighter and therefore easier due to the strict six patients to one nurse ratio. Plus all the psychiatric units are staffed with nurses so the level of competency would be much higher, creating a positive working and learning environment.
I searched the internet to find an agency which would best suit my needs and Vital International Recruitment immediately jumped out at me, the page looked very professional and explained a lot of the basic questions I wanted to know at that time. And when I contacted Vital and spoke to Joey she explained the process and was very helpful, there and then I decided set the ball in motion.
Moving was a daunting prospect in regards to leaving my family and friends as they are very important to me and I know this would be the hardest part of the transition but the pros outweighed the cons.
On arrival in oz my first impression was a positive one, I felt a mixture of emotions, surreal but exciting. I knew this was what I wanted and needed to do and I had done it. I felt a sense of achievement accompanied by excitement, the only negative thought that would seriously impact my stay in Australia would be if I liked my new job or not.
First day in a new job is always scary for anyone but working in psychiatry has helped me develop my skills, quickly adapting to new environments has become second nature to me. On arrival the unit seemed calm and relaxed; staff were friendly and helped me settle in. There were subtle differences in the psychiatric system, mainly the mental health act but nothing I was not prepared for. The patient acuity is a lot higher because we are an inner city acute unit with a relatively quick patient turnover. The job is hard due to the nature of clients but enjoyable. I have more opportunity here to further my learning, many extra courses to attend in house which keeps me up to date with my professional development.
The move to Australia has been a great experience so far and thanks to Joey Cooney and all the Vital Group. I will take this opportunity to thank them for all there hard work during the process, I would recommend Vital International Recruitment if you’re considering nursing in Australia.

Joey was my recruitment consultant throughout my family’s journey to live and work in Australia. From the beginning she told us exactly what was needed and how to do it.. everything went so smoothly and within 3 months of my initial phone call with her I had been offered a job in Perth in Emergency ( where I wanted to be having worked in the same for nearly 10 years in the uk) and my family and I had our 4 year visa. We arrived here in this wonderful country on the 1st of June. Joey kept in close contact throughout the whole transitional period and even now is there for help and advice. Finally having been here less than a year we were granted our Permanent residency Visas on the 26th May having been sponsored by my employer...A big, big thank you Joey. You’ve helped us live the dream.

RN. Perth. Western Australia.
To whom it may concern:
I am an American Intensive Care nurse whom used Vital International Recruitment for my working holiday visa for placement in Melbourne. I was placed at the Epworth Hospital in Richmond in the Intensive care from October 2008 until April 2009. I had a wonderful experience utilizing Vital International Recruitment agency to arrange my contract. From the first conversation with Sophie, I was handled in a professional and efficient manner.
Working with Vital made the process of working in Australia much easier as they provided clear instructions on how to transfer my nursing license, obtain my visa, and of course helped to find a job for me. Vital organized my interview with Epworth and gave me a clear idea of what to expect in the interview as well as an accurate idea of what the hospital and unit would be like. Sophie followed up with me after the interview and was always very available by email or phone for support. I was very impressed with how easily I could get in touch with Sophie or how quickly she would get back to me. I always felt like an important client and that all my needs were met. It made the choice to work at Epworth easy, as Sophie insured me that it is one of the finest hospitals in Melbourne and I would absolutely agree.
When I arrived in Melbourne, I was easily transitioned into the job at Epworth as I had transportation from the airport and comfortable accommodation very near to the hospital that she organized for me. We were provided with helpful packets upon arrival that helped us quickly acclimate to Melbourne. Sophie came in person the day that I first visited the hospital and met my manager. She was very professional and it was great to have someone there for support. After the first week of work, Sophie checked in with me to see how I was going. I also attended a “meet and greet” at the Vital office where I met other nurses that were also new nurses to the area, many of them from Epworth. It was nice to meet other nurses for further support.
Overall, I was very pleased with the wonderful service that I received from Vital and I would be happy to recommend them, and working at Epworth hospital, to any friend or colleague that shared an interest in a similar experience. Vital International Recruitment is a efficient, professional company and I am very happy to have worked with Sophie and the other agents.

Working for the Epworth group is an entirely new experience. The opportunity to work at an Epworth hospital was suggested by Sophie Pelman at Vital International recruitment. A little discussion and prior research of the Epworth group strengthened my knowledge of the many wonderful aspects that this opportunity could present. The assistance I received in all manner of preparation was excellent. My apprehensions of moving from the UK to Australia and of working in a prestigious clinical environment were put to rest as I was guided through the process, and even accompanied by Sophie to my first meeting at the hospital. For a recruitment agency, and a hospital group, the professionalism and support you can expect is second to none. I cannot recommend obtaining a position within Epworth through Vital International Recruitment enough.'

Hi to all you fellow nurses,
My name is Gillian, originally from Scotland but now based in Victoria and working full time at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
This was all made possible by the lovely Sanja at Vital International who guided me through the entire process. It was a pleasure to finally meet her when I arrived in Melbourne.
I have been working for 5 weeks now and Sanja still keeps in touch to find out how I am getting on. I know that if I have any problems, she is always at the other end of the telephone to answer any queries that I may have.
I feel fortunate to be working in The Royal Melbourne, the support from nursing staff has been excellent and I actually look forward to going to work every day.
So, if you are contemplating making the big crossover to this side of the world, please contact Vital International who will guide you, effortlessly, through the process.
Look forward to meeting some of you when you finally arrive – you will not regret it.
Gillian

Hello,
My name is Liz and I came to Melbourne, Australia in January 2009 to work at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Vital International (Sanja) has been second to none in organising everything from my visa, to picking me up from the airport.
My experience here so far has been positive. The staff on the ward have been so friendly and welcoming and I have settled in well to the ward. I only ever have 4 patients at the most, so I am able to give them the best care possible, as the workload is much less that the UK.
Melbourne is such a vibrant city, with so much to do and see, so if you are thinking of making the move, my advice would be to do it as soon as possible and see what you are missing out on.
Liz Marsh

The Vital Agency and Staff, especially to Sophie Pelman one of the real person I met in Australia. This is my little story but full of thanks and praise.
My family and I could not ask for a better recruitment agency as ‘Vital’. The trust, help and support they provided us especially Ms Sophie Pelman who's very pleasant, lovely, kind, professional, supportive and always there to count on.
From the very start Sophie did not leave us. Before we finally came in to Australia despite, our enthusiasm we encountered lots of obstacles because when moving your family you need to consider many things. Sophie is a true person though we made her down sometimes due to some inevitable circumstances but we felt we are not alone as Sophie helped us to continue our dreams to find a better place to work, good job and have a good family life in Australia.
Finally, when we reached our destination, what a big challenge and enormous move it was but Sophie made us feel secure. She met us at the Hospital and gave all necessary information. She followed-up on what was going on, made us feel at home and always give us words of encouragement. Living in a very new place and when you don’t know anyone but can be scary but knowing there's a person like Sophie thinking and helping us is a great blessing!
Sophie, Thank you! These two words are simple enough to say but yet very difficult for some to deliver.
My 100% recommendation whoever plans to move to Australia especially to my fellow Kababayan Nurses in UK why not try to call Vital Agency before looking for other Agent.
PS. I met some of my kababayan in here and they say after they arrive in Australia they never saw their agent at all and they say I am so lucky at all. Anyway, we wish all the staff in Vital Recruitment agency with more power and success. Again, Thanks for everything and my God bless you all!
Kind regards,
Roberto, Ligaya, Darelle and Luke

Vital international made the migration to Rockhampton, so much easier. Sophie, assisted me through the whole process of finding me a position,to making my family and I so welcome in Australia. She followed up every request and assisted me with all my Questions and queries. I feel I have not only found a great recruiter but a great pal in Sophie, Thank you for all your persistance and support.

Hi. My name is Patricia le Roux., I am a Registered Theatre Nurse. My family and I immigrated from South Africa to Western Australia in September 2008. We decided on immigrating to Australia about 2 years back. We did not know where to start and what to do, so we contacted an immigration agent who told us where to start. He also told us not to start applying for jobs for we first need to have a visa before applying. We got hold of Vital Recruitment address and I decided on sending them my email. Sophie Pelman replied straight away by giving me the format of CV the require in Australia, since it is different from ours in SA. I sent her my CV and within a few days, she phoned me and I had my first interview with her. The following week she has booked an interview with Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. She was very helpful by sending me interview tips and the hospitals website information. Sophie was with me every step of the way. Whenever I wanted to know something I could just send her an mail and she would either phone or mail me.
I was offered a job at the hospital with a nomination number. Sophie help me with the process of applying for a 457 visa, and within 28 days after I lodge my visa application I was used my visa. This was the best day of our life. It was a dream came true. In less than a month after the visa was granted we were in Australia.
Sophie gave us information about the living cost in Australia, basic stuff like the price of food, car, house rent, etc. This information was very helpful. Sophie help us in finding accommodation for the first week. She arranged for somebody to pick us up from the airport. Sophie gave us information on how to find health cover before we came to Australia, how to get a tax file number, how to open a bank account.
I would for sure recommend Sophie Pelman from Vital Recruitment to any Registered Nurse who is thinking of immigrating to Australia. Sophie was with us every step of the way, even now she is still phoning me to offer her help whenever I should need her. We as a family are very grateful for Sophie and Vital Recruitment for helping us to get a new, safer life in Perth.
Thanks a lot Sophie!
Patricia Le Roux- South African RN

When I was considering moving to Australia last year, I contacted Vital International via email, and within a few hours a lovely consultant called Joey phoned and was helpful from then. She arranged a job, helped me through the visa process and was always on the other end of a phone to help in a very professional manner.
The process was very easy and was made easier by Vital International, and I thank them for making this transition smooth.
I have been living in Brisbane for 6 months, working at the Royal Children’s on PICU and am now living the dream. I am just about to apply for permanent residency.
Lindsey Stott, RN
Long before beginning my nurse training I knew I wanted to one day work in Australia, to experience the lifestyle Down Under that everyone talks about. Working on a very busy Orthopaedic unit back home in Manchester, I decided after the New Year it would be a great adventure to realise those dreams and plan for my next step. There were many agencies advertised that offered assistance with the process, all offering pretty much the same thing, however Vital instantly struck a cord when I was replied to with the most clear, yet user friendly information. I was contacted by Sophie and we discussed the whole thing. I discovered there is a lot of form filling and waiting involved, and at times I was quite nervous about things, but like a knowing friend Sophie was always there along the way.
Like everyone elses testimonial, the support and guideance is fantastic. I'm a natural worrier, however it all worked out great. I've been in Melbourne for 5 months now working at a superb hospital, and enjoying life here with new friends. I still keep in touch with Sophie and feel great comfort in knowing help is still at hand. My advice to anyone considering such a move is to just get in touch with Vital, they are the experts!
Stuart Faulkner UK RN
I applied for lots of jobs in Australia, but Sanja at Vital was the ONLY one who actually followed through and delivered. Sanja assisted me in processing all my applications and negotiating accomodation etc with the hospital. She found me a position at Alice Springs Hospital and I have settled in here like a duck in water!
Alice Springs is the most incredibly beautiful place, and there is so much to see and do here. Anyone with an interest in nature or indigenous cultures will be fascinated.
The hospital runs the best orientation programme I have ever had in 25 years as an RN, with lots of training pertaining to the indigenous population. The entire hospital is incredibly well funded and well-organised.
When I began here I brought with me a little coin bag in which I intended to charge $1 to everyone who made a joke about Kiwis....it is still empty! Most of the staff here are 'blow-ins' like me, yesterday on duty hand-over there were 5 Australians, 7 Indians, 2 Zimbabweans, 2 Americans, 1 German, 1 British and 1 Malay RNs. Also a very high percentage are male nurses, so we are a real melting-pot and we have a lot of fun together :)
I would definitely apply to Sanja at Vital to find me another position when this contract ends.
The photo is one of my own :)

Dear Sophie,
Thank you ever so much for making my dream come true. With you, the whole process was made easy starting from arranging an interview for me and right to the end. I felt free to call you when and if I was having difficulty with anything. You were always understanding and very easy to talk to. The whole process was made very easy simply because of your endless support. You became not only my consultant but also a friend.
Since my arrival in Australia you've had constant contact with me to check on my day to day development. I will never hesitate to recommend anyone thinking of coming to Australia to choose VITAL INTERNATIONAL. It is worth all the effort and I believe it will be the same for anyone else.
Again a BIG THANK YOU !!!
Cheers,
Julia Kpakiwa- Epworth Hospital Melbourne

My name is Blessy Thomas. I came to Melbourne from Liverpool (UK) towards the end of August 2008. Now I work as a critical care nurse at the Alfred Hospital.
We wanted to move to Melbourne to join our family members over here. We saw a job advertisement of Octopus (now known as Vital International Recruitment) in the RCN. We called and left a message and the very next day Joey Cooney called us and discussed the jobs and location preferences in Australia. She has given us a pro active and efficient service throughout the job search and relocation process.
I never thought that I would be here by August 2008, but now we are here and I am very glad and very happy that we used Vital International Recruitment who provided great assistance, support and guidance the whole time.
I would recommend Vital International Recruitment to anyone who is searching for a reliable and efficient recruitment company. I am very impressed with the fact that Joey keeps in constant contact with us even now I am settled into my new environment and job. I really appreciate all the follow up and give a BIG thank you to Joey and the other members of the team for their excellent service.
Blessy Thomas, RN

I am so glad to have found Vital Recruitment! I dreamed of moving to Australia for years and working with Vital gave the experience ease. I can't tell you how nice it is to have Vital do the work for you in finding a job, setting up interviews for you, giving you a time line for all the paperwork that needs to be done as well as having the support and wisdom of such a great team of people to help you. Working with Sophie was an absolute priceless experience. She is wonderful and supportive. I must have called her 100 times with little questions about nursing, or even just about Melbourne. Additionally when I arrived to Melbourne I felt at home with the premier airport pickup and the perfect flat to launch me into living in Australia! Choose Vital to help you find the best job and location for you with ease; I would recommend Vital to anyone and insist that my family or friends use their services!

Hi Joey and Vital Staff,
It’s Floriade in Canberra and I am now celebrating spring and enjoying sunshine here in Australia. I can’t believe it’s been 2 months since I left New Zealand! Time really flies that I am now starting to prepare for my permanent residency application early next year. Who would have thought I’d consider leaving New Zealand and re-settle here! It may be too soon for me to sound so patronizing about Canberra but I must say I made the right choice. This is where I want to be -- tree-lined streets, quiet and relaxing environment, and easy access to public transport. On top of that, the bicycle lanes here are fantaaastic ! Where else would I be? If not for your confidence and convincing prowess I wouldn’t dare move out from my comfort zone and consider working in Canberra Hospital’s Emergency Department. Working in a teaching hospital like TCH (The Canberra Hospital)is a great opportunity for me to develop my potentials and advance my nursing career. I am learning heaps everyday and ED staff are very supportive.
Credit goes to you, guys, for facilitating an excellent negotiation in behalf of me, for your guidance and assistance throughout the whole process. Joey’s unfailing effort in tracking me down in whichever part of New Zealand I was ( especially whenever I was hiking on mountains, cruising on rivers/seas, hibernating on far away places with weak mobile signal ) has kept me amazed until now ( don’t know how she did it ) and it never ceases to put a smile on my face whenever I think of it. She still rings me every now and then to check if I am all good in here.
Again, I am truly grateful for the time and effort you have put into helping me secure this opportunity. Thank you for your commitment and I wish your agency more power.
Cheers !
Anna

Dear Sophie,
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and greatest appreciation to you for what you have done for me and my family. Because of you only we are here in Canberra. I love to think of you as my elder sister not merely like an agent, because you are so approachable, understandable and helpful. Because of your loving and encouraging words I feel like I can share my concerns and problems not only regarding my job but also all about my family. You guided me well and solved all my problems. Now we really settled well in here and my children are very happy here.
I strongly recommend Vital International Recruitment to all nurses who want to come to Australia and I recommended you already to my friends.
Once again thank you so much for all your sincere help and guidance for me and me thank God for you.
